About Us

The Society of Exotic and Avian Veterinarians (SEAVET) is an international education and scientific organization founded and incorporated in the city of Chennai, India with the mission of advancing and promoting exotic animal and avian health, welfare, and conservation through education, advocacy, and science.
SEAVET members engage in a multitude of fields related to the welfare of exotic mammals, domestic, captive, and free-ranging birds. Those areas include companion bird and exotic animal medicine and surgery, wildlife, zoological medicine, aviculture and academic practice.

Objects of the society:

The objects for which the association is established are:

To function as a body for aiding minimal standards of avian and exotic practice for private veterinary clinics /hospitals.
To be the forum for exchange of ideas and experience for avian and exotic companion animal veterinarians.
To organize Continuous Education (CE) programmes for raising the standards of veterinary medical practice.
To establish collaboration with other allied National and International Veterinary organizations and Societies.
To act as an advisory forum to the veterinary specialties regard to all clinical subjects concerning the objectives of the Association.
To work for the development of infrastructure for the advancement of avian and exotic animal practice in India.
To create interest and awareness among veterinarians in the developing field of avian and exotic animal practice.

BYLAWS:

➢ NAME OF THE ASSOCIATION:

The name of the association shall be "SOCIETY OF EXOTIC AND AVIAN VETERINARIANS (SEAVET)."

➢ REGISTERED OFFICE

The registered office of the association shall be situated at no. 57, PMG Complex, South usman road, T-nagar, Chennai – 600 017.

➢ DETAILS OF INCORPORATION:

The society was formed in the year 2023 and the area of operation of the society shall be all over India and other areas as decided by the managing committee. The business hour of the association is as per convenience. The office bearers of the association will be from the admitted members of the association.

LEADERSHIP:

SEAVET’s Leadership is comprised of an Executive committee and Advisory Council. The Advisory Council includes committee chairman and other members, several ad hoc committees, and international liaisons. These members contribute numerous hours of volunteer time each year to lead our association successfully.
