1. Application for Membership Form: means the application for membership form to be completed and submitted to the Office in order to become a Member of the Society of Exotic and Avian Veterinarians (SEAVET).
Contract Term: means a period of one years and which is renewable once in a year until the agreement is terminated by either party in accordance with these terms. After three years the candidate is eligible to become life member of the association after the payment of the registration fees/charges applicable time to time. Member: means the person or company who is named on the Application for Membership form and for whom, following acceptance the association office, the office has agreed to provide services to, in accordance with these terms.
2. Agreement to these Terms: When applying for Membership of the association, the Member confirms that it has read and agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Upon membership being accepted by the association, the Member will be provided with its own copy of the Terms and Conditions and they should be retained for future reference.
3. Registration:
a. Registration and membership is open to veterinarians and related subject matter specialist who have an interest in the inn the field of avian and exotic animal practice.
b. Each User shall only register once.
c. The User shall register online to become a Member of SEAVET.
d. Members of the Association are Members of SEAVET with additional accesses allowing them to participate in the General body meetings and related activities.
e. Members of the Association shall expressly accept SEAVET Statutes on registration and are bound to comply with them.
f. By registering with SEAVET, the User accepts that most communications with SEAVET and its Members will take place electronically.
g. It is the User’s responsibility to make sure that she/he has sufficient access to Internet to participate to the activities at the desired extent.
h. SEAVET screens registration applications and reserves itself the right to reject a registration without stating the reasons.
i. Upon registration, Members are required to supply their name, email address, mail address, areas of interest and a password.
j. Members vouch that data supplied on registration are true and complete, and that they are kept up-to-date after registration.
k. It is expressly forbidden to place accounts at the disposal of third parties and to disclose access details to third parties.
l. For technical reasons, SEAVET cannot establish with certainty whether a registered Member really is the person he/she claims to be. SEAVET shall therefore provide no guarantee as to Members’ true identities. Members shall therefore be responsible for verifying other Member’s identities and shall contact SEAVET in cases of suspicion.
m. SEAVET reserves the right to modify, suspend or discontinue individual services and/or sections of the Members Area, or all of them, at any time and without prior notice, in whole or in part. SEAVET reserves the further right to limit or deny access to individual or all services, without prior notice at any time.
4. Termination of Membership
a. Members can resign their membership with SEAVET at any time by communicating their decision by mail or email.
b. The resigning Member shall pay the current year’s membership, if any, in full.
c. The membership can be terminated by decision from the Board of Directors. The concerned person has the right to appeal against this decision at the General body meeting. Cases where the membership has been repeatedly left unpaid (for two years) lead to the expulsion without a right to appeal at the General Assembly.
d. After the resignation or the termination of a membership, SEAVET is entitled to continue without time limitation, to freely use in the Website, emails, publications and advertisements, in full or in part, the contributions (text and other material) the Member submitted to SEAVET before resignation or termination, if any.
e. Resigned Members can apply to revive their registration at any time. The decision to revive a registration is taken by the Board of Directors.
5. Membership Fees
a. Membership fees are decided by the administrative committee members.
b. Members are required to pay the membership fees, if any, in due time through SEAVET Online portal or account transfer to the society bank account directly.
c. The Board of Directors may decide to grant partial or full membership fee waivers to specific Members.
d. Users who may not afford to pay the membership fees can contact SEAVET and ask for a partial or full membership fee waiver. Renewals of membership fee waivers are not automatic. They shall be asked by the Member by contacting SEAVET and shall be decided by the Board of Directors.
6. Cancellation and refund Policy
a. For membership registration through SEAVET portal, you agree that we may start your membership process immediately upon our accepting your application. This means that you are not entitled to a refund if you change your mind after we have provided the membership.
b. Except as set out in the previous section, you do not have any right to cancel your subscription or any part of it until the end of your then current subscription period.
c. Although you may notify us of your intention to cancel at any time, such notice will only take effect at the end of your then current subscription period, and you will not receive a refund.
